- Edit your text using NOTEPAD or any other TEXT editor and then
- paste the edited text into WinTrumpet. WinTrumpet 1.0B will let
- you include a file (text or binary) into a post. Hopefully it will
- be officially released sometime soon.

- If you are referring to the Trumpet WinSock, it currently only
- supports Class 1 (ethernet, bluebook) and Class 6 (SLIP) packet
- drivers. There is a PPP packet driver called ETHERPPP, which
- can be found on merit.edu, which fakes an ethernet class packet
- driver over a PPP driver. I have heard of several people use
- the Trumpet WinSock over ETHERPPP. Perhaps you could try that.

- Hi Johan,
-
- I have the same set up as yourself for the last 36 hours or so. So far
- everything behaves OK. My login script is as follows:
-
- output atz\13
- input 10 OK\13
- output atdt0813434848\13
- input 30 ogin:
- output genesys\13
- input 30 assword:
- output ******\13
- input 30 otocol:
- output slip\13
- input 10 HELLO
-
- The important thing is the SLIP command.
-
- I assume you have read the demon Winsock beginners guide document for
- setting up DICS etc. I don't use the Trumpet utilities but WS_FTP,
- DICS, Newswin, Mosaic, Cello, WSarchie and WSgopher all found on
- Demon's FTP. I know that Newswin, DICS and WS_FTP (superb!!!) function
- OK , the others I have yet to try. I have also just started using DCB
- as a front end to the above. A few niggles in that DICS won't startup
- automatically but seems sound. DCB is a bit odd in that it does the login
- with it's own script and the TCPMAN login script isn't used. No problem
- providing you tell TCPMAN not to autologin when started! Also when DCB
- runs no TCPMAN icon appears. Worrying at first!
-
- If you still can't get it running join the demon.ip.winsock newsgroup
- and shout help!
-
- Regards
-
- Duncan
